FAQ

Battery Overcharge

How do I play?

Hold anywhere to charge the battery. Let go to let it cool.

Each order asks you to fill a battery to a target window. On most batteries a single long hold will overshoot and pop it — so the trick is to pulse: hold, release before it overheats, hold again. Stop too early and the charge drains away.

Every battery behaves differently. Some run hot and give you barely a second. Some drain the moment you let go. Learning them is the game.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. The whole game works offline. There is no account and no sign-in.

You only need a connection if you want to make a purchase, because Apple handles that.

Does the game collect my data?

No. There is no analytics, no tracking and no advertising identifier. Your progress is saved on your device and never uploaded. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Are there ads?

No. Battery Overcharge shows no advertising of any kind.

What are Volts?

Volts are the in-game currency. You earn them by filling orders.

They are spent in the Charger Shop on cosmetic items only — different battery characters and different chargers. Nothing you buy with Volts makes an order easier, gives you retries or extra lives, changes the difficulty, or unlocks gameplay. The game can be completed without spending anything.

Can I buy Volts?

Yes, optionally. Volts can also be bought as in-app purchases, in several pack sizes. They buy exactly the same cosmetic items you would otherwise earn them for.

There are no loot boxes, no randomised rewards, no subscriptions and nothing that expires.

How do I stop my child making purchases?

On the device: Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → iTunes & App Store Purchases, then set In-app Purchases to Don't Allow.

You can also require a password for every purchase in the same screen.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Tap your Volts counter to open the Volt store, then choose Restore Purchases at the bottom.

You will not need to enter anything — it checks the store account already signed in on the device. If you bought on a different account, sign in to that one first.

Note that Volts are a consumable — once they are spent, they are spent, and Apple does not restore consumables. Permanent unlocks can always be restored.

I bought Volts but they did not arrive

First, reopen the app while connected to the internet — a purchase interrupted mid-flight usually completes on the next launch.

If they still have not appeared, email support@khomin.tech with the date of the purchase and we will sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I lost my progress

Progress is stored on the device. It is lost if the app is deleted, and it does not sync between devices. If it vanished without the app being deleted, please email us — that is a bug and we want to know.

My child cannot read yet. Can they play?

Yes — that is a design goal. Every button is a picture, and no text is required to play. The batteries communicate with faces, wobbles and sounds rather than words.

What age is it for?

Rated 9+. There is no chat, no messaging, no user-generated content and no way for players to contact one another.

Does it support accessibility settings?

Yes. Sound, music and vibration can each be turned off independently in Settings. There is also a reduced motion option, which calms the screen shake and softens the pop animations, and a high contrast option.
